Angela

Angela Hunter-Cree

Owner/Artistic Director

She/Her

With international experience and decades of creativity, Angela is known for her personalized care, expert styling, and passion for helping every guest look and feel their best. Trusted for her professionalism and warm approach, she has built lasting relationships with clients throughout her career.

Angela's Bio

Angela discovered her natural talent as a stylist in London, England while backpacking through Europe. Upon her return to Canada, she spent the next 30 years building her extensive clientele.

Acknowledged early on for her talents, Angela was a constant feature as head stylist for Elizabeth’s Fashions Bridal Shows over the years. This tradition continues today and now involves all of the TRENDZ talented Artistic Team. Having an established career did not keep Angela complacent and she began an education process that includes international training.

From Mexico with Kate in 2007 for her first international training event to the entire team going to Las Vegas in 2009.  Along with Kate, Angela has also trained in Paris France and travelled to London, England in 2012. And traveled to many European countries/cities and North American Cities such as Venice, Stockholm, New York City, and Barcelona. Angela continues to polish her skills and uses them to inspire the team at TRENDZ.

Kate

Kate Caney-Benyon

Owner/Artistic Director

Kate developed her passion for long hair and special occasion styling early in her career and has trained internationally with leading industry educators. Known for her expertise in updos and formal styling, she is TRENDZ’s in-house consultant and trusted specialist for special occasion hair.

Kate's Bio

Kate originally began her career under the guidance of Angela and then flourished in her own right gaining proficiency in hair design over the last 25 years. Kate holds several industry certifications including her Masters for Cutting, Colour and Styling. Kate has trained locally under the guidance of renowned hair styling veteran, Martin Parsons.

Kate has a passion for international training and it has taken her from California in 2002 to Mexico in 2007 with Angela. Kate, along with Angela, was happy to take the entire TRENDZ Artistic Team to Las Vegas in 2009. In 2010 Kate and Angela were inspired by Goldwell’s major international class in Paris France and travelled to London, England in 2012 more recent events? Amsterdam 2022 to continue her passion for the hair industry.

Kate’s talent extends even further as an educator in styling/updos and is our in-house consultant and specialist for beautiful bridal and special occasion styles.

Kate’s extensive knowledge and eagerness to learn sparked a desire within Angela to celebrate education as continuing process and together they collaborated to create TRENDZ Hair Studio.

Brandi

Brandi Nevin

Stylist

She/Her

Brandi attended Blanche McDonald in Vancouver, BC in 2012. Moving back to Ontario she worked in Downtown Toronto as well retail at Cosmoprof before joining the TRENDZ team in 2020. Continuing her growth as a colourist, Brandi is a Color Master Technician of Goldwell standards! Her books are always open for new clients!

Katie Mclelland

Katie joined the TRENDZ team summer 2021 as one of our lovely Assistants. In May 2022 she registered as an apprentice and enrolled in La Luma Academy in Guelph. Returning to our team June 2023. Katie is our Extensions specialist and has a passion for Blondes! Katie is always accepting new clients!

Shannon Cree

Shannon followed her moms footsteps and started her career in 2014 as a shampoo girl at TRENDZ. After taking on roles as; Assistant, Apprentice and Salon Coordinator through the years, she is now a full time Stylist! Shannon has completed many Goldwell standard certificates such as the Synergy: Cutting&Finishing Certificate and The Color Master Technician Certificate. She loves doing custom colours and cuts and has a passion for Updos/Special event Hair! Her books are always open for new clients!

Ava Visser

Ava started at TRENDZ in August 2023 after graduating from Georgian College for Hairstyling. Her inspiration for becoming a Stylist started at a young age from watching and visiting her grandmother, who was a stylist. We look forward to you seeing Ava grow in our salon on her stylist journey!

Currently on Maternity Leave
Megan started her hair journey at Voila Institute for Hair styling. She then worked at salons in the city known for Influencer hair and posts, specialising in highlights and Balayage. Leaving the city she found our cozy salon, joining team TRENDZ in 2024!

Caitlin Fry

Currently on Maternity Leave
Caitlin started her hair journey officially in 2015, but the passion started long before. Joining the TRENDZ team in 2024, Caitlin brought over a decade of knowledge and experience to the Salon. Caitlin has worked internationally at the Toronto, New York, and California hair shows, taking influence from talent from all over the world, she has kept her passion alive. She has developed many specialties including balayage and effortless finished styles. Caitlin is always accepting new clients!
